Combined digital cordless phone and weather station
This combination seems so obvious that you wonder why nobody thought of it before. What's the first thing almost everybody talks about when they answer the phone? The weather!
With the Oregon Scientific Weather DECT Phone you don't have to rely on TV forecasters who don't quite cover your area and never seem to get it right anyway. You get personal up-to-the-minute barometric weather reports along with the temperature and humidity - inside and out. This is displayed clearly on the base station's huge screen above the date and time.
If you're away from the base station using the crystal-clear DECT phone, all this information can be displayed on the handset. They really have thought of everything.
There are three main parts: the DECT phone handset, the base station and a sensor. Setting it up is a doddle. Just plug the base station into a phone socket and power source. Let it charge up the handset overnight. Stick the sensor on a windowsill or use the included clip to fix it to a wall anywhere that you want to check the temperature and humidity. Usually that'll be outside, but we do know somebody who uses it to keep an eye on the climate in his wine cellar. Flash sod!
Quite apart from the weather station, the phone and base unit are amazingly well specified. They use DECT – Digital Electronic Cordless Telephone – technology which is a world away from the old hissy analogue system, but that is just the start.
